PrayerWe are looking for a Prayer Leader who would head up the Prayer Team for China. If you are interested in showing leadership to this ministry OR If you would like to be on the Prayer Team praying for the Fong’s and for the work being done in China, please contact Edline.
Prayer is the lifeline of our church. It's what builds community, and in the end, it's what keeps community alive. Nothing happens in a church that has lost focus on prayer that is of any real consequence in our world - lack of prayer just becomes the death of a mission; that's the last thing we want to be remembered for. If we want to be a church that affects our culture, prayer needs to be infused into the DNA of who we are. We need to choose it. We need to want it. We need to fight for it... because it really is the fight for our lives. Our lives as individuals, and our lives as community. If there's one thing we won't do here at AAC, it's give up that fight. Also, help us pray for others through many avenues in prayer ministry, such as 10 hour prayer, Tuesday prayer (during Ladies Bible Study), prayer walks around AAC, email prayer chain, Global Missions (GMT) and Altar Team. If you are interested in praying for the life of this community, or you are in need of prayer, please call, in confidence, the church office at 403-948-3818 or contact by email. Sunday Morning Prayer Prayer, is it truly the foundation of effective ministry? Considering the commitment to prayer inthe lives of Jesus, Nehemiah and Daniel, the answer would seem to be a definitive "YES"! But is praying for the church that important? Paul thought so. he prayed for morelove, greater knoledge, God's best, purity and that the fruits of righteousness be evident. Great idea but...who has time for another meeting? Good news! We are inviting 10 or more people willing to prayer for an hour on Sunday mornings. It will require no formal gathering, you can simply slip out of bed, brew some coffee, grab your Bible and pray. you will receive bi-weekly prayer concerns, but mostly we want you to be lead by the Holy Spirit and scripture. How can you become a part of this exicting ministry? Call or email Ruth Thiessen at 403-320-1806. There will be no schedule. The time you choose to pray is your own and there will probably be a few Sundays where it simply will not fit into your day. That is okay. We want to consider this time with God, on behalf of our church, as a priviledge rather than an obligation. Experience the blessings! For the past 1-1/2 years I have been enjoying this hour of prayer on behalf of our church. It has drawn me closer to God, increased my love for the church, made me more aware of the importance of our ministries, spiritually prepared me for the services and I have been trusting God for the results. - Ruth Thiessen
