The Quest (grade 1-4)

The Quest (grade 1 through 4)

The Quest is finished for the summer on June 27 and will resume on September 12, 2010.

This program runs from September to June at both the 9:20 a.m. and 11:10 a.m. services. Children must be accompanied by a parent to the Foundation Room (downstairs) for sign-in. There kids and parents will be greeted by our friendly volunteers. Upon initial registration, kids are issued a name tag which is color-coded according to the Small Group into which they are placed. In most cases, Small Groups are made up of kids belonging to the same grade in school. Families will also be issued a Family Identification Card which MUST be shown to the volunteers when signing in kids at the start of the service, and when picking up kids at the end of the service.  Energetic, worship music plays as the kids engage in lively activities stationed throughout the Foundation Room. When the activity time is over, the kids gather together to participate in a meaningful time of worship and prayer.  Following worship, the children experience Large Group time. Using the 252 Basics curriculum, our Storytellers teach from the Bible in creative, interactive and life-relevant ways which impact the children with spiritual truths. Each month the lessons focus on teaching one virtue, e.g., obedience, humility, generosity, etc.  After Large Group time, the children separate into their Small Groups, where the Small Group leaders build relationships with each child through discussion, activities and prayer. Each activity used during this time has the purpose of applying the spiritual truths of the Large Group teaching time to the children’s lives and experiences.  At the end of the program, children will remain with their Small Group Leaders until parents come to pick them up following the service.

Dear Parents:

We are launching a Ministry Opportunity for you and your kids! It’s called Fun In The Sun.  Adventureland, Quest and Edge are collecting kids’ hats and UV sunglasses and money to give to Garden of Joy, a non-profit organization in Haiti run by Ann Farguharson, Michelle Currie’s mother (Michelle is a volunteer here at AACN). Garden of Joy will give out the hats and sunglasses to kids in Haiti to protect them from the sun’s harsh rays. The people of Haiti, like other countries with lots of sunny days, have many eye problems as a result of the sun. By donating your well-cared for hats and sunglasses or new hats and sunglasses, we can help protect the eyes of the children of Haiti. All money collected will be used to support this mission!

Collection will be done June 13th and 20th in AVL, Quest and Edge.

We encourage you to be a part of this with your kids and to talk with them about why we support the children with money and the importance of hats and sunglasses. Let them know that this is one way that we can use what God gave us to do God’s work in the world!

You can see what this Ministry is all about here or contact Cara.

Let’s use what God gave us to make a difference in the world this summer!

God Bless,

Airdrie Alliance Kids Ministry Team
